Molding Supervisor

Status: Hourly Full-time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Molding Supervisor is required to run the molding department for 2nd Shift. Molding is one of the core competencies of Thierica Display Products, and this position requires an excellent work history and knowledge of Injection Molding, Process Tech, Material Handling, and Supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness and maintain safe work environment within molding department.
  • Troubleshoot, mold setups, and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Lead a small team of people in execution of daily production tasks, mold changes, work scheduling, training, maintenance and in continuous improvement.
  • Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a material drying and distribution system.
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance
  • Maintain Key Process Improvement (KPI) measures within department.
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Coordinate with Process Engineer for process deviations or repair for tooling and end of arm tooling
  • Manage and perform emergency maintenance on all injection molding equipment.
  • Responsible for achieving production requirements and goals.
  • Other duties as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • May be required stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Requirements:

  • Understand the Quality Policy Statement and how your job supports the statement and quality objectives.
  • Degree in Plastics or Engineering OR 3 years hands-on work experience in Injection Molding
  • Familiar with all types of plastics.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment and supervisory experience or 5 years’ experience with mold teching.
