Machinist

Status: Hourly Full-time, Non-Exempt
Department: Instrument

Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and maintain a safe work environment within the machine shop.
• Work with Mills, lathes, Drill presses, Grinders, Engravers, Assembly Equipment. Must be able to do set-up work and be able to read blueprints.
• Operate the machine shop for aerospace, automotive, or government machine components.
• Enter production data into ShopEdge and track machined components in ERP system.
• Produce tight tolerance components from print with excellent quality and precision.
• Support engineering or commercial department needs for machined pieces, parts, fixtures, press machines, etc.

Requirements:

• 2 + years machining experience with some formal training.
• Must have work history experience with CNC lathes and mills.
• Must have job shop experience with knowledge of basic CNC machinery.
• Extensive troubleshooting experience on machining equipment
• Must have experience running short run- or one-off prototype parts.
• Must be able to fabricate parts from a rough sketch or detailed drawing.
• Must be self-sufficient and take pride on quality of your work.

Physical Demands:

• May engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
• May be required stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
